The leading event of the gay fetish calendar International Mr Leather and International MR Bootblack which was due to the pandemic moved from its usual end of May weekend (Memorial Day) to November has been pushed forward again. The annual contests and their associated add ons held in Chicago which are hugely popular with many International travelling kinksters and is also the highlight of many title holder’s sashed years which was also unfortunately postponed in 2020 again for Covid Reasons has now been formally cancelled for this year.
The board and foundation would have made this decision with serious consideration and a heavy heart but it seems the change is as much to do with logistics as any rules and health protocols which maybe still in place in the late fall. The good news is that the next IML and MIBB has been clearly announced for its usual weekend 26-30 MAY 2022 and we fully expect that will be the biggest gay fetish celebration ever. With many title holders from 2019-2022 all presumably entitled to compete it will undoubtedly be the biggest event in the 43-year history of the flagship contest.
Hopefully by then all bars, associations, cities and countries will have been able to hold their own contests and the new competitors will make it to the big stage in Chicago to stand alongside their brothers from previous years who have not yet had the possibility to enjoy the greatest experience and mindfuck of a weekend that a fetish man can experience. We at Alphatribe wish all the title holders that were hoping to compete in 2021 (or indeed 2020) the very best of luck on the massive stage next May and stand behind the board and Foundation’s decision which is printed below in full….we will be there to cheer everyone on.For any information on refunds of tickets etc or transfers to the May 2022 event possibilities please look to the IML website which we know will have all the information as soon as logistically possible.
